Cole's - Downtown Los Angeles Restaurant - oldest continuously operated restaurant in L.A., specializing in Pastrami sandwiches

El Cholo - Mid-Wilshire, Santa Monica restaurant - classic old time Mexican restaurant

Engine Company #28 - Downtown Los Angeles restaurant - a converted old fire station, lots of business power lunches

Grand Central Market - Downtown Los Angeles restaurant - recommended - a wide variety of food here, and you can stop in to see the Bradbury Building nearby

Hank's Bar - Downtown Los Angeles restaurant

HMS Bounty - Mid-Wilshire restaurant  - red booths and a turn-back-the-clock decor.  Try the baseball steak or the monte cristo.  The bar does get a Hollywood crowd on late weekend evenings.  Located on the ground floor on the Gaylord Apartments building on Wilshire Blvd.

Langer's Deli - Downtown Los Angeles restaurant - great Pastrami, hours are Mon-Sat. 8am-4pm.

McCormick & Schmick's - Downtown Los Angeles restaurant - offers some great $1.95 happy hour food specials

Pacific Dining Car - Downtown Los Angeles restaurant - also in Santa Monica, another power lunch spot

Papa Cristo's - Mid-Wilshire restaurant - excellent Greek Food

The Original Pantry - Downtown Los Angeles restaurant - in business since 1924, open 24/7, offers steaks, chops and good breakfasts, owned by former Mayor Riordan

Anna's Italian - West Los Angeles restaurant - located on Pico, near the Westside Pavilion.  Friendly atmosphere.  Their pizza is recommended.

Antica Pizzeria - Marina Del Rey restaurant

The Apple Pan - West Los Angeles restaurant - classic burgers, sandwiches & great pie since the 1940s.  On Pico Blvd right across from the Westside Pavilion.

The Arsenal - West Los Angeles restaurant - On Pico near Bundy, good steaks, hamburgers  and a quality happy hour.  The site this restaurant sits on has an interesting history.  Do note that they have transitioned to more of a bar/lounge format.

Novel Cafe Westwood - we recommend the New York Scramble for breakfast (eggs, lox & cream cheese).  Excellent coffee as well.

On the Waterfront Cafe - Venice restaurant - nice place to get a beer and watch Venice in action

Patrick's Roadhouse - Santa Monica restaurant - right on PCH, this green painted restaurant has character and a following among the Hollywood crowd.  I recommend going for breakfast and having an omelet.
