9876 WILSHIRE BOULEVARD
BEVERLY HILLS CA 90210     <display on GoogleMaps>

Standing at the intersection of Wilshire and Santa Monica Blvd, The Beverly Hilton is a 1950's era classic.  It is said that President Kennedy used this hotel as his Western White House on occasion.  Although built by Conrad Hilton, the hotel is often identified with Merv Griffin, who owned the property for a number of years.  This hotel also contains Trader Vic's restaurant.  Merv Griffin sold the hotel 2004  (the price was reportedly in the neighborhood of $130 Million), and the new ownership is contemplating a large addition/renovation that would add 96 condos, 104 condotels, and 96 additional hotel rooms.  So if you want to take in this classic before the construction cranes move in, we recommend that you hurry.
